It seems ironic that her potential future love interest (Jack Davenport) on "Flash Forward" played in the U.K. version of "Coupling" as the partner of her character in the U.S. version of that show The U.K. version of "Coupling" was a brilliant show..

Not quite. Sonya played Sally in the US version. Jack Davenport's character, Steve, on the UK version was involved with Susan (Sarah Alexander) throughout the series. Sally meanwhile had an on-off relationship with Patrick.
