Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Donna Summer

In the year-end issue of 2012, PEOPLE MAGAZINE has a tribute to those celebrities who passed away in 2012. Each year, they usually have celebrity friends and colleagues comment on each passin1908g with each picture. This year, they have more of a 'list' with a few celebs memorialized with a full picture (Whitney Houston kicks off the section, no surprise there). I guess times are tough, and they have to cut back?
Anyhow, in the section a few pages past Houston (memorialized by Jordin Sparks) there is a picture of Summer (1978's 'Live and More' cover), with none other than Streisand 'memorializing' her. I believe this is the very first time she has done this for anyone in the magazine, and I suspected she would have done it for her friend of nearly 50 years (Marvin Hamlisch, who died in August) instead of Summer. However, it's a beautiful surprise that she remembers her this way
She was so vital the last time I saw her, a few months before her passing. I loved doing the duet with her. She had an amazing voice and was so talented. I shared thoughts about her with the audience every night on my recent concert tour when I sang No More Tears (Enough is Enough) and she she'll always live on in her music - Barbra Streisand.
"I prefer fantasy over reality TV - like Fox News" - B.Streisand
