Donna performed the "Best Song" Oscar winner from 1978,
Last Dance
, in addition to
On the Radio
(the theme from the film "Foxes") and
Romeo
from "Flashdance".
. . yet no acknowledgement during the 2012 passings segment of the Academy Awards ceremony. Very unfair exclusion! -

It's sad. To be honest I wasn't expecting them to include Donna, but then I saw they included Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys and I thought, "Seriously??? Something is wrong here"! I wonder why, oh why time after time she gets snubbed? It's a mystery.

In just learned she was gone last year, such a pity for the world to say farewell. Her famous songs such as "Hot Stuff", "Bad Girl"influenced me a lot to love disco at that time. And yes, Oscar didn't mention her name in the memoriam.

Those two songs you mentioned were part of countless movie soundtracks over the years, which makes her more than deserving of being mentioned during the In Memoriam segment. Oh, and then there is the hypnotic "Down Deep Inside" from The Deep, which still sounds amazing and futuristic nowadays.
