Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Drew Struzan

A bit of a break from the wacky nonsense he usually does, The Critic praises Struzan, intelligently, seriously, and artistically.

Why is this board not picking up more after that great tribute?

haha I just saw the tribute, and came here to look up what info imdb had on him. Not much.
Kinda weird to think about. This guy's artwork is among the most iconic and well known in America right now(I'm sure lots of other places as well). I'm sure to a few generations of people, his artwork might be THE most well known. His work is that incredibly popular and beloved, yet nobody knows who the actual artist is(I know I didn't know this guy by name, or that the same guy did all these different posters).
I've always had an appreciation for dvd/video covers and movie posters. I HATE how the movie business does things now with computers. I REALLY hate how many older movies that previously were only available on VHS, get lame, computer designed new covers for dvd. They ALWAYS look FARRRRRR worse. It's mindblowing. Why do that? Anyways, that just made it even cooler to see Critic's vid on this guy. It's cool to have a name/person to think of when I look at some of these posters. Good to know the artist behind the incredible art.
