I am. Meryl stated on Live with Kelly and Michael how great he is in the role. It was a tricky role to cast and he blew away the competition the minute he came in for the meeting. He is both a brilliant musician as well as a good actor. She was very complimentary.

Rick Springfield said that kissing Meryl Streep was like playing in a band with Paul McCartney.
"Ricki and the Flash" fascinated me. I am not sure why. The trailer showed way too much. But sometimes movies are about the ride, not the destination. Maybe it is because I know at least four women like Ricki Rendazzo.
I thought Streep was pretty convincing as a struggling musician with a lot of baggage. But a few times I thought she looked like a suburban housewife gone astray. Sometimes unknown actors are more convincing than famous stars. Streep's next movie was "Suffragette" playing a nineteenth century Englishwoman. And I think that is what many fans expect.
I thought they were vague about Ricki's age. Meryl Streep is 66 years old. I guessed Ricki was in her fifties and acted like she was in her twenties.
Ricki and Rick Springfield made a cute couple. Springfield is a rock star who acts and Meryl Streep is an actress playing a rocker. I heard Springfield admit that he acts only for the money and music is his true love. Co-starring in a major motion picture with Streep is a huge step up from his usual TV acting.
Meryl Streep's daughter was played by Meryl Streep's daughter. Talk about typecasting. I have no problem with it. Mamie Gummer is a professional actress. Many fans complain when actors and actresses playing relatives have zero resemblance. That is definitely not the case with Meryl Streep and her daughter. There are some unrelated actors and actresses I would like to see work together playing relatives. Helen Hunt looks like she could be Leelee Sobieski's mother. Juliette Lewis and Rachel Griffiths look like sisters. Ryan Reynolds and Jason Lee look like brothers.
Ricki's day job was very realistic. If she played music in local bars she would need a day job to make ends meet. Total Foods was obviously a goof on Whole Foods. I think most supermarket employees are part-time so she probably didn't get health insurance from them.
The movie was filmed in the New York area, but took place in California and Indianapolis. It sure didn't look like Indianapolis. Maybe it looked like an affluent Indianapolis suburb. People expect so much from Meryl Streep. She is so well known for playing characters with accents. I wondered if she was going to attempt a Midwestern accent, but that is something her character may have lost. The only Midwestern reference I noticed was when she referred to soda as pop. I can't believe Streep was bawn and raised in Noo Joisey. I would love to hear her tawk with a Noo Joisey accent5b4 becawse 'dats 'da way I tawk.
I haven't been on an airplane in a few years. How much would it cost for Ricki to bring her guitar on the plane? It probably wasn't cheap and she really didn't need it the first time she went to Indianapolis.
Mature adults holding on to rock star fantasies is pretty weak. Sometime during my thirties I realized I looked ridiculous with butt length hair and should look like a grownup. I also stopped wearing an earring around the same time. I don't believe in self inflicted scars, but thought an earring was okay because a nose ring is allowed in The Talmud. I guess there are worse things than looking like an over the hill rocker. It is better than dressing up like a pirate. My bro played in a local rock band that wore stage clothes. I once saw his singer by himself in a bookstore wearing leather pants and a leather cowboy hat. I thought he looked pathetic.
Like Ricki, metal detectors are my downfall because I wear a chain wallet and carry a lot of stuff in my pockets. Sometimes I have to remove my steel-toe shoes. Another time old style gum wrappers set off the metal detector. When I had jury duty I practically had to do a strip tease to get through.
I have known at least four women like Ricki Rendazzo. My childhood sweetheart, two ex-girlfriends and a second cousin all remind me of Ricki. Maybe it was because when I was growing up in the '70s and '80s al16d0most everyone I knew loved rock and roll music. And about half the people I knew tried to sing and/or play an instrument with a band. I plead the fifth on that.
I got together with my childhood sweetheart about five years ago. Back in the day she was the three B's - beautiful, built and bad. Now she is the fourth B. She is bisexual. Notthattheresanythingwrongwiththat. She has been married twice and has four kids. She isn't exactly a traditional mom, but is still the goods.
I have a second cousin who is a rock singer. She always had a lot of confidence. It really helps if you have daddy's money to fall back on. She is the kind of person who is very opinionated even though she lacks the facts to back it up. She is crazy and has no boundaries. I once bumped into her at the supermarket and she went through all the items in my cart. I am glad I didn't have anything embarrassing in there. She married a man ten years younger before that became fashionable. She sang at her
