One of the reasons I started tuning into ONE LIFE TO LIVE is because of JWS. Eddie is an abusive a**wipe who yearns to make everyone miserable, including his three gorgeous sons and especially that whiny ex-wife Inez. From his first scene at James and Bobby's, I knew he was bad news. It is unfortunate that Eddie is only going to be around for two months. I would like for him to stick around. Yes, Eddie Ford is a far cry from the sweet, handsome young doctor named Kelly Nelson that he played on GUIDING LIGHT when I was in high school. The one thing that is definite is that he is one hell of an actor. He won critical acclaim (and two Daytime Emmys) for his work on other soaps. On AS THE WORLD TURNS, he played psycho killer-stalker Doug Cummings, who was obsessed with Kim Hughes (the great Kathryn Hays) while dating her niece/stepdaugher Frannie (future Oscar contender Julianne Moore). This led to Emmy #1. The second Emmy was for his role as an abusive pro tennis played named Martin Ellis on SANTA BARBARA. Martin got his butt kicked by Cruz Castillo (A Martinez) and whined about his leg and not ever playing tennis again. Martin was an upscale version of his current OLTL character. I know of his role as deranged lawyer Carter Jones on the "SUSAN LUCCI SHOW", but did not watch him then. I would love to see clips on him in that role. His primetime work is well documented-THE FLASH, Mitch O'Leery on DAWSON'S CREEK, and a role on the drama SISTERS. None of which I watched during the original runs. I bought the box set of THE FLASH. I even bought the first season set of NYPD BLUE, where his hot tush is shown, as well as the two episodes of JAG that he guest starred in. I met in person on Veterans Day, 2011 in front of the ABC Studios where ONE LIFE was taped. He taped his last appearance of Eddie that day (the episode was the 'HEAVEN AND HELL' episode that aired during OLTL's last week in January 2012). I can see why everyone, including myself, has loved him and his work for 30-plus years. He really is the guy next door. As for his personal life, I don't give a rat's tush if he is straight or gay. It is NONE OF OUR (expletive deleted) BUSINESS.
