an underrated gamine beauty?

I first heard about her in a style book for girls under "The Gamine" section along with, of course, the most famous gamine Audrey Hepburn. but she doest get quite as much recognition for her beauty or acting (which I havent seen much of but everyone who has seems to have no complaints), especially next to the more famous (and IMO way overrated) fellow blondes Brigitte Bardot and Marilyn Monroe. Why could that be? I think she is much more beautiful/sexier and though I think like most celebs she did some immoral things, more interesting. Anyone who says blondes are overrated or trashy looking has clearly never seen her.
I see her as a great hair icon- she was very pretty any length but I love pixie cuts, and being as feminine looking as she was, pulled it off well as Audrey did.
on a side note, for some reason with long hair she reminds me strongly of Dawn Schafer from the Babysitters Club, lol. no idea why.
