Is it like Doo-Gray or Doug-ray? Most of us in my household think it is the first but nobody is sure.

I'm Scottish so believe me its pronounc1c84ed "dug-ray". Not, "Doog".

Doog-ray. I come from Glenrothes and went to the high school he went to. He's about as famous as we get here - if you can call him famous.

I am commenting on a very old post here but yes, Shelley, I would definitely call Dougray famous and he is becoming even more so. Glenrothes and all the rest of Scotland can be proud of him.

my Scottish husband pronounces it Doo-gray, so it appears even Mr Scott's countrymen are in disagreement about the pronunciation.
