I don't know anyone who took D.C. Cab that seriously. Yes it wasn't Shakespeare, but I don't remember where it ever promised to be either.
It was a crazy movie with crazy comedians and comediennes (as well as Mr. T who was crazy in his own right).
Anyone that doesn't have a straight-laced sense of humor should like that movie. Hot Tub Time Machine sort of reminds me of it (though the writing in Hot Tub Time Machine is even better). -

It's not that I went into DC Cab expecting something Shakesperian. Hell, I didn't get a damn thing from this movie except for a severe case of wanting to destroy that horrid VHS tape so that no one else could watch it. I understand that, for some, it might have been a goofy comedy. I just don't see it. And how dare you compare this to HTTM? Now that flick was a goofy comedy. This, as Nunziata said in a certain CHUD podcast I listen to from time to time, was a glob of sick cum.
