Gailard as CD on Walker Texas Ranger

On the first episode and I think a few more Mr. Sartain played the character of CD then out of no where he was replaced. I would like to know why he did not stay on as CD. Does anyone know why?

That happens a lot.
He played cd in the pilot episode, which is done for the network so they could decide whether or not they'll start producing a series.
Pilot episodes are a lot different than the final series, network executives might change some actors and cut off some characters or add new ones.

He played C.D. on the pilot "One Riot, One Ranger," but face it, the late Noble Willingham was born to play the role.
