Steve I don't know if you ever visit this board, but just in case you do. I want to thank you for all the wonder music you have given us over the years. I can't tell how much it has moved me. Truly a great musical talent of this generation. Most of my CD's are in storage, but when I saw the "The Essential Journey" CD I couldn't say no. I was really missing my CD's. I have been listening to it for the last couple of weeks to and from work. "Wheel in the Sky" and "Faithfully" are two of my favorites. No matter how much I listen it still blows me away. the lyrics and vocals really incredible.
Don't get me wrong I liked the whole band, but as the lead you stood out and made Journey shine.
Many say that "When a Man Loves a Woman" is probably the greatest love song ever written. I don't know I think "Faithfully" well I wouldn't want to have to chose between the two, cause I like both.
I was sorry to hear of your departure from the band. These things happen. It happened to the Beatles, Foreigner (love Lou Gramm), and countless other bands. I was also sorry to hear about your surgery for throat cancer. I hope that all is well and that you may someday sing again.
Trust me when I say I am just one of your millions of fans that think you have one of the most incredible, crystal clear voices and we haven't forgotten you. We still love you and wish you all the best. Long after we are dust your music will still be inspiring mankind. Their are alot of unique voices out their in the music industry, but when it comes to love songs you are the first person I think of. Faithfully is one of most favored songs. If I AM sad, lonely or hurting, putting on the headset and listening to my favorite music, I usually always grab your CD's first.
Love you Steve and once again THANK YOU so much for being so awesome. I will still be listening to your music when I'm 100 (if I live that long). -

Thank you for lifting me up when I felt like giving up. Your voice alone inspired me to make so many positive changes in my life and for that I am a much happier person. It made me free and for that I owe you so much thanks! You sing from your soul and that is what moved me most.
The guitar licks from Journey and musicians is also the icing on the cake! They are awesome! Your vocals/harmony/intonation are incredible!
