Sopposedly to work with Obama. I then see he is making another stupid Harold and Kumar movie, also made appears in how I met your mother. I don't get it or see what the point was if you did not want to do house why even sign up, or be honest and say I quit. I can see his career will be In the tank now.
    A former fan.

Both of those happened two years later. And anyway, one was a recurring guest role and the other a movie, neither of which demanded the time that a full-time starring role in a tv show does. You dolt.

An actor who gives up a role to work on something that he deems more important for society for less (or even no) money? Youre right, that man is incredibly stupid!

I kinda lost a bit of respect for him when he dropped out of house. That was a disgustingly great show and for him to just leave? I thought that maybe he got an Oscar nod type of epic role in a movie expected to make a gazillion dollars and has blockbuster potential. To each their own

"Disgustingly great"? That's some turn of phrase.

House was a great show, but it definitely could have lived with out Kal at all.
He chose to do something else with his life, it's his life, not yours.
He can do whatever he damn well pleases.

It was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I mean if you give up working in Hollywood to work in the White House. That's a big deal. You give up millions of dollars to make thousands because of your principles. I would say it's noble.

I completely agree, how is being on House, more important than working for the President? Clearly working for the White House is major, its not like he was a volunteer or something very minor. Not to mention is acting career is just fine and House wasn't even on the air for that much longer afterwards. He only would have been in 3 more seasons, not to mention he character wasn't very huge so who's to say he would have stayed? Him staying on House would only have made him an extra 3 million probably, maybe not even that, those types of roles are only paid like 60,000 a episode, he was probably making 30,000 a episode likely.

He worked on then Senator Obama's presidential campaign while he was on hiatus in between seasons of House. Then he was offered a job in the the Obama Administration. Then he took a leave of absence from his job with the administration to shoot H&K3. He left his job in the White House for his role on HIMYM.
He had an incredible once in a lifetime opportunity and he took it. Honestly I don't know why he left the White House job for HIMYM.
