This is something thats been bothering me for ages. Is it just me or would Nathaniel Parker of been the perfect sirius black in the harry potter films? Personally i hate all the films so far, but ever since i saw him in inspector lynley he seems to have that thing that is sirius black. I wish they'd of cast him for the role, he'd of been perfect, i may of actually of watched the films then. Anyone else agree?

"I'm sure he could have done the role well. the idea didn't jump out at me though. his kind of evil role is more physcological than scary looking"
I agree with that, that's why he played Albert Speer well, he's an example of a
slightly
calculating character. Yet Nathaniel Parker seems like such a sincere, good man, testament to his acting ability
.
Reading on he would make a good Snape, if, for whatever reason, Alan Rickman stepped down, but it would be weird, I hate it when they replace actors/theme music, etc it is an ajustment but too different for me to deal with initially, I get used to it butit takes a while.

When I was watching him in A Class Apart the other night I suddenly thought that he would make a good Snape if AR ever decided to quite the role. Hopefully he never does as Snape is my fave HP character and I love Rickman in the role but Nathaniel has the same dark sexy brooding looks!

I'm afraid Alan Rickman outclasses NP by far. NP is a fair enough actor but it would be a huge step down to see him take over AR's role. I rather tend to think he'd be out of his element really, in a film like that. But now that it has been mentioned, his looks would suit both the Snape character or the Sirius Black character.

I agree that Nathaniel would be perfect. Don't get me wrong: i love Gary Oldman, but he was more scary and harh than a sophisticated hansom man that was in prison for more than ten years. Nathaniel would have given the Black to Sirius Black.

Ahh God . . . that would be soooo perfect!

I think he'd probably make a good Snape too my class watched Hamlet and he was absolutely gorgeous as Laertes.

If Nathaniel Parker wasn't a) 44 and b) married, I would totally find him and marry him

Nathaniel Parker as Sirius Black is not a casting choice I'd ever considered before, but yes, I think he would have done a wonderful job in portraying that role. Although, I really like the flavor Gary Oldman brings to it as well. The near-absence of Sirius Black was one among many disappointments that I had with the film version of "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire".
I would like to see him in the fantasy genre, particularly as one of the love interests in Marion Zimmer Bradley's Avalon series. -

LOL! I laughed so much when I read these posts. Sirius Black is my favourite character and Nathaniel Parker is my favourite actor. I would have loved for him to play Sirius Black. However, he is so suave, clean-cut and well-fed that I doubt he could convincingly play a thin, scruffy, animal-like prison escapee.
But despite that, he would have been brilliant!
