I presumed he was mixed because of his role in Beverly Hills Ninja. I don't see any evidence of this but that's what I've thought before going to IMDB.

Nat certainly is exotically handsome no matter what backround he is!!(I always thought he looked somewhat Asian as well-maybe Native American). But he is truly one of the most handsome actors around!! He's got some beautiful soulful eyes-did I mention the voice??!!

TakashiMiikeFan-I just meant hypothetically speaking Nat looks like he could be Asian or Nat.American by his physical features.I know in reality he's not, of course he's British

Some folks from the British Isles end up with surpsingly dark hair and deeply set, almost Asian looking eyes. I come from a long line of fair haired Irish people, but my mother's mother had jet black hair. Elaine Cassidy, an Irish actress from Disco Pigs, has (I assume) natually dark hair and very odd eyes. I don't think it's common, but it's not unheard of.

My guess would be there is some Norman blood in there. Many Normans (from northern France) apparently had that dark hair & eyes & taller stature than the Britons & Celts during those early years of Norman invasions.
I first saw him in Zeffirelli's "Hamlet" as Laertes many years ago. He truly is a great actor, not just a handsome face, & my hope is he finds good work for many years. His is a talent that should not be squandered on just any part.
That said; damn! he is simply delicious!! I am a sucker for dark & eyes. and that voice

Please, not only you are guessing but where did you learn that the Normans "apparently had dark hair & eyes"? FYI, the Normans or "Northmen" were invading Vikings who give their name to Normandy and established a powerful Duchy in that French region in 911 A.D.. The thread here is that Nathaniel Parker looks somewhat half-asian and trying to explain that his darker features could be coming from France is pretty lameplease travel and educate yourself a little better.

Pff I always love discussions like this. Firstly the celts in Briton were notoriously brunette and red haired in comparison to the mainland Gauls look it up. The Irish, the welsh and northern Scottish who have a higher density of Celtic and pict blood do have a higher number of darker haired people. This is also due to trading with Italian fisherman some of whom stayed in the Uk.
Second, yes the Normans had a higher proportion of dark haired people indeed William the conquerer had such hair colour, read the descriptive below.
http://www.englishmonarchs.co.uk/normans.htm
Also a number of mainland gauls were darker then others. Just look at the countries today and you'd be suprised how few have fair hair as their predominant colour, almost none infact outside of the scandinavian countries. Even those countries have plenty of dark haired folk.
The anglo-saxons were certainly darker then the Viking invaders as the fairness of said invaders was apparent enough to comment on.
Throw in the fact that the Romans ran Britain for centuries and brought with them Spanish and Slavic auxilieries and its not hard to see how you could get a lot of dark exotic looking Brits without having foreign parentage recently .
Infact black hair is the most common colour of hair in the world by a ratio of 2:1 and is found in all races. Not surprising since dark hair is a dominant gene where as blonde hair is recessive and will eventually almost die out.

The Anglo Saxons were vikings who drove the picts, celts, and welsh out of England. So to say that it was only the normans that were vikings is quite frankly stupid. They were the last of the viking invaders. Hell trying to explain his asiatic looks through ancient history is asinine. You all seem to forget that England had an extensive em238pire for almost 300 years the jewel of which was in Asia. It is not beyond reason that hundreds of years ago white people were having sex with the people that they were subjugating in Asia. And it is not beyond the pale to think that their offsprings would enter british society and pass on their asiatic genes.

You're all very entertaining. I was feeling depressed, but both Nathaniel Parker, and this ridiculous, yet humorous conversation has picked me up. Thanks. btw, I always thought he reminds me of an older, sexier, more sophisticated, more British Keanu Reeves. I love Keanu. He's my dream man. Nobody, save for Nathaniel Parker holds a candle to him. But rewatching the last of the Lynley Mysteries last night, DANG! They had him dressed all metrosexual and showing off his body. He looked amazing!! Yes, he's talented and yes that accent and that voice could melt me anyday, but damn is he hot! He does look either part Asian or part Northern, Native, like an part Eskimo or something. I know he's not, but yes, he does indeed, as you all said, look exotic. His wife is one lucky lady.

Yes, Nathaniel Parker does indeed look like a British Keanu Reeves. However, Parker is a much better actor. He should have been cast as Jonathan Harker in
Bram Stoker's Dracula
, instead of Keanu with a terrible phony Brit accent.
