    This was more like a play but I saw this late one night in the early 80s (mid 1981 actually) I was flipping through the channels. It was on the old CBS Cable channel. It was Glynnis O'Connor and Robbie Benson. Surprising and kinda cool to see them two working together since Ode To Billy Joe. At first I thought it was a "live" version of Ode To Billy Joe because it had that southern feel (southern accent included) and the scene was like something out of the movie. They were walking side by side and he's talking to her just like Billy Joe flirting with Bobby Lee. I didn't get to watch it all because like I said it was late at night, I was 11 years old by the way, and I had to get to bed before my dad made me go. So I didn't get to find out what it was. I've always remembered that and always wanted to know what it was.

        That was almost certainly the production of Thornton Wilder's
        Our Town
        that was done for NBC in 1977. You can see a clip here:
