All films can be dubbed into any language required, but there are times when English-speaking actors are allowed to dub their own voices in European films. The multi-lingual Christopher Lee could have dubbed his own voice in all his films, but many times he was not given the opportunity. "Sherlock Holmes and the Deadly Necklace" (1962) is an example of hearing someone else doing his voice, and this German film definitely suffers for it. I don't know what the background is behind1c84 "Starcrash," but for me, the real puzzle is why Caroline was dubbed by Barbara Jefford in "The Spy Who Loved Me." Barbara Jefford? In "El Aullido del Diablo" (1988), a Spanish-language film with Paul Naschy, she appears to be speaking in English but was still dubbed in Spanish (my dark, blurred copy had English subtitles). I have not yet seen "Faceless" (1988), her Jess Franco film. Sounds like she also may have been dubbed in "The Devil Within Her" (1975), with Joan Collins and Donald Pleasence.
