Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Joe Morton

Okay I'm planting a seed here; puttin' out an idea that I hope will set down roots someplace.
I recently heard two pieces of news 1. that Joe Morton's show 'Eureka' will not be renewed for another season.
    2. that Dan Akroyd is pitching a Blues Brothers television series; it's supposed to be like "Route 66 meets Glee".
I am guessing it will be some kind of 'reboot'; rather than have Akroyd as Elwood & recast an older Jake, they will probably have younger actors/singers to play a novice version of the Blues Brothers and their band- Which makes me think they might want 'Curtis' in the series Curtis was the mentor & father-figure of Jake & Elwood, originally played by Cab Calloway.
Joe Morton is a talented guy he was the ONLY watchable part of "Blues Brothers 2000" his rendition of 'John The Revelator' gave me chillbumps.
I think, now that he's gonna be available, Joe Morton should BE in that Blues Brothers series! I think Morton would be BRILLIANT as a rebooted 'Curtis', who could be the band's manager as WELL as a mentor & adoptive father to the Blues Brothers who occasionally has to grab the microphone
    Who's with me?
