Was Bobby ever in the Navy?

My Dad, who passed in the early 1990s, was in the Navy during the Korean conflict. Apparently the only "action" they saw was when their ship accidently ran over a South Korean fishing vessel but he did mention whenever we saw Bobby on TV that "he was on my ship".
I was too young to really press for details, but now I'm wondering if that meant that Bobby Morse was serving, or if it meant he was part of some sort of USO tour.
Any idea if Bobby was a sailor?

Indeed he was.
According to his biography he was in the Navy and served in Korea.
