REALLY liked him as Truman Capote in the videotaped production of his Broadway - Tony Award winning performance, one-man show called TRU, it aired sometime in the 1990's. He also won a Best Dramatic Actor Emmy for this performance.
I wish they would release that on DVD.
Anyone else remember it? -

I saw "Tru" when it was in San Francisco. Robert Morse totally transformed himself into the character to the point where I thought I was watching Truman Capote and not an actor playing a part. It was only at the end, during the curtain call when he strips off the stage makeup that you see the smiling Robert Morse we know and love
Brilliant performance! -

I knew Truman (that's how I always referred to him even after he told me to call him Truto his consternation!) and Robert nailed him PERFECTLY. Was blown away by his performance and it took me a while to realize where I'd seen the talent behind "Tru", in How To Succeed in BusinessWOW! I was flummoxed and amazed!
