Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Dick Miller

I know he's hardly Tom Hanks, but he doesn't seem to have been doing much in his career lately. Yeah, I know he's old. But he keeps appearing in Joe Dante films and yet he wasn't in Homecoming. Angus Scrimm is older than him and he's doing a ton of stuff! In 3 years since Looney Tunes, he's made 1 TV appearence and is scheduled/rumored to be in a movie coming out maybe later this year.

I think I read somewhere that he has been sick these past few years. Don't recall where I came across it, but the article mentioned he had one of his lungs removed. Ever since I saw A Bucket of Blood, I've been a fan - somebody needs to make a documentary on the Life and Time of Dick Miller!!

I'm worried too. Joe Dante didn't cast him since Looney Tunes.

Joe Dante DID cast him in Looney Tunes! He's the security guard who takes away Brendan Fraser's badge.

Yeah, if he had passed away, I guarantee it would've been all over every horror forum on the internet in no time. Long live Dick Miller!

I just did a GOOGLE Search , and haven't been-able to find Any Real "News" about Mr.Miller , from the Past 2 Years-or-so , Other than the Mention of One Recent Film Release I hope that Any Death-Rumors going-around are false , and if He has been-having Health Problems , I hope for the Best.

I read at a character actor site that,a few years back, Mr. Miller had 40% of his lungs removed, and a triple bypass. That would mean he was very, very sick and probably took an awful lot to recover, but he did it!

Dick Miller is alive and Joe Dante has just cast him in Trapped Ashes, the horror anthology that Dante co-directed with Sean S. Cunningham, Monte Hellman, John Gaeta and Ken Russell! Though it's not credited on imdb yet, the film was shown at the Cannes Film Market this year and reviewers mentioned that Dick Miller was in it!
And yes, long live Dick Miller, en exquisite, very funny and talented actor!
