Whatever happened to him playing the green arrow has that f5b4ilm just been ditched because i collect green arrows comics and kevin smith does a great job writing the comic and Mewews was an interesting choice forr the green arrow

I think you meant the green hornet, smith was never attached to helm a green arrow adaptation, though he did write a few comics for it. But in regards to the green hornet, it was all based on speculation, Mewes didn't know but overheard the hype and actually asked Smith if he was his choice for the character, he said no.
Smith's green hornet script is getting adapted into a comic book mini-series, sort of, focusing on hornet and kato's descendant's in a modern day setting.

No kevin smith said he was interested in making a green arrow film a few years back and he would cast Mewes as oliver queen because he thinks he can be a good hero. i read it on ether mewes or kevin smith's bio on this
