I was at convention today in South Jersey today and Jason "JAY" Mewes was there signing autographs and taking pictures. I have to say I was really disapointed. The line was probably about an hour and it was $25 for the pic and auto. and he barely even acknowlaged the fact that I was there. He went on break just after I met with him and was in the middle of texting someone he was meeting for coffee and looked up just long enough sign the autograph and take the picture. I know he's been sitting there all day and tired and I dont expect him to act like I'm his best friend or anything but at least have some curtosy to your fans who wait in line and pay to meet you. I talked to a few other people that met him today and had pretty much the same experience. I also met Brian O'Halaren (Dante) and it was completely the oppostie with him. He was so nice and talked with everyone for a little bit and just seemed really appreciative you were there to meet him. Just wondering if anyone else has met Jay and what they thought of him.

I was at that same convention! I agree Brian O' Halloran seemed more talkative, but Mewes seemed fine to me, though maybe a little bit like he didn't want to be there. The waiting sucked, especially since he went on a break or something for about 10 minutes.

I was there as well and Mewes seemed like a cool guy. He was talking to anyone that approached him and even when he was taking a cigarette break, he was hanging out with fans outside and didn't turn down anyone that wanted a pic. Maybe you caught him at a point when b68he was getting tired of sitting there all day.
I also think people expect he's exactly like the characters he plays in the Kevin Smith movies, but he's really a calmer guy. -

My husband and I were at Monster Mania as well. He actually asked us to come outside for a smoke break with him. He was very friendly, and WAS genuinely happy to see everyone there. He did say, however, that he was feeling a little uncomfortable with the fact that people had to pay for autographs. It made him feel bad. Also, the lines at that convention were kind of hurried along by the staff in an effort to give everyone the chance to get an autograph.
While we were outside, Jay called my brother at work since he couldn't make it that day. He told my brother he was sorry he couldn't meet him in person, talked to him about his job working with computers, and congratulated him on his new baby.
I'm sorry that yob68u were disappointed with your meeting. From the little bit of extra time I did get to spend with Jason, I'd be willing to bet he did not mean to brush you off. He really seemed to be appreciative of his fans there. Those conventions just get so crowded, I think everyone gets rushed through an autograph session at some point. -

Good to see the rest of you had a good experience with him. Must've just caught him at a bad time. Just nice to see he actually is a good guy (which is what I was expecting) and normally does appreciate the fans.

He ask where I got the accent from and when I said French-Canadian he was all cool and even signed: "French Yay"! He was really cool! And boy, I have to say a lot of girls I've met were drooling over him he his indeed very HOT!! Anyways, he was really a great guy! Even decided not to do the Q&A sat night, to make sure everyone in line that waited so long to meet him got to!

I was at monster-mania & I thought he was great. He was kidding around & he was really nice. He saw me like 5 people back in line (because I'm 6'7") & he was yelling to me. He wrote "You tall lunchbox" on my autograph haha.

i met him at the cmiccon last year and he was extremely cool! im so suprised to hear that he was that way, first off, he and david arquette were doing promotion for the tripper, the two of them were sitting about 3 rows back and as he got up to do Q&A, he noticed i was wearing a clerks shirt with him and smith on it, he stopped walking and said "Where did you get that?" I replied "at the mall" he had never seen it before, I thought it was awsome that he decided to start a little conversation with ME! then when they did signings, he signed a poster and my clerks comic FREE, as well as letting me take a picture with him, Im very sorry to hear he acted that way but i can assure you he isnt ALWAYS like that.

I met him today at the London Film and Comic Con, and he was perfectly nice, but he looked a little tired ^^ He was still very nice and took more then one pic with me because my friend got cut out of shot the first time. He seems a little shy 'cause when I told him I liked his piercing (he had a cartalige one and I think those are really cool =3) he cam eoff as such. Then when we saw him walking around my mate's mum regretted not having a pic with him and he was more then happy to stop and have one with her.
I was very surprised by how good looking he was - I've only seen him as Jay which obviously does nothing for him, but he has really great tattoos and is actually a very good looking boy under the beanie and unwashed long hair XD.
Peace

I met him at London Film and Comic Con too - I agree, I think some of it can just be simple tiredness that some people misunderstand as something else. He was very sweet and patient though and even signed my autograph with Boo Book Kitty **** as requested :D. No complaints from me. Oh and I second how attractive he was, very very nice.

I met him the other day and he seemed really sweet. I'd heard he was quite shy in real life so wasn't expection to actually meet "Jay". He seemed to be losing his voice a bit though. He signed my autographs "SNOOCH TO THE NOOCH" which I loved! My gf got "SNOOCHY BOOCHIES"

Actually I went to the same Horor Convention, well same place same organizers on Saturday and I met Jason Mewes, I was never a HUGE fan of his but I have to say he was about the sweetest funniest guy, he spoke to us at length for a few minutes posed for pics etc all free of charge we happened to catch him as he was walking. He really is just the cutest little thing. I am now a fan I must say

Met him Saturday at Monster Mania in NJ. We were there early and there were only two people waiting in his line. He was really nice. The wife and I got a picture with him as well. She's had a crush on him for years. We went to a Q&A later that day and he was hilarious. He told some great stories. He is just as funny and raunchy as Jay.

I didn't get to meet him but I was around when he was leaving. He was quickly packing up but at the same time he was making sure a girl got her picture and autograph. So from that, he seemed really attentive to his fans and tried his best to meet everyone.
