Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Kelli Maroney

    Hello Ms. Maroney!
I'm a fan of yours, I'm actually a huge fan of Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and I was wondering if you have any fond memories of working with such future greats as Anthony Edwards, Eric Stoltz, and Forrest Whitaker?
Also I was wondering why you are sometimes credited as Zoe Simon- is that your real name?
    Thanks in advance,
    K.

HiNo, Kelli Maroney is my real name. I changed it legally a few years back when I wanted to do other work in another profession to try to avoid my acting career from being a distraction. It didn't work. : )
I have great memories of that film. We shot quite a few scenes that didn't make it to the current cut and I had a little more time to spend with different members of the cas238t than you can currently see. Stoltz was then and is now a super sweet person. Same with Anthony and Forrest. It was an exceptionally good group of people. Thank you for writing. : )
      Kelli

          Hey Kelli,
I just saw NOTC for the first time the other day on DVD. Wow, I never heard of this flick before and as a horror AND 80's fan I can't believe I missed it. Very cool, eerie, nostalgic and fun homage to classic horror but it still is original. I also can't believe Robert Beltran went after Catherine since you were the more attractive Valley babe. My couple of questions are:

          1. Did you have to audition for NOTC?
          2. Did your mother in the film really "slap" you or was it just faked with sound effects put in later?
I will now have to check out Chopping Mall because of NOTC. Have fun at the conventions!

HiGlad you enjoyed. Yes, I did have to audition for NOTC-????- and yes, Sharon and I agreed after a take or two to just have her slug me one, or we would probably still be standing there trying to get the shot!
            Thanks for writing. 😉

Ouch! Yeah, I figured it was a real slap, or should I say punch, since it just seemed too authentic to be faked; I definitely flinched and I don't flinch easily:)

MGM is having money problems, might be a good time to try buying the rights again 😛 Good luck!
