Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Larry Linville

I would have to say that my favorite moment for Frank was in(I can't recall the title now) when all through the episode Margret keeps going on and on about Donald (but then when wasn't she all through the 5th Season) and finally at the end of the episode, Frank, Hawkeye, BJ, and Margret are sitting at a table in the Mess tent and Frank turns to Hawk and says "Maybe we can go out tonight and get a couple of nurses. You know that little readhead has had her eye on me." Margret says "Don't you think that she is a little young for you." and without missing a beat and with straight face, Franks says "Oh I don't know, a little youth might be nice for a change." When I first heard that, I said what Hawk was thinking, "Holy __it! I can't believe Frank just said that".
I believe this the classic Frank moment, too bad it came too late, I liked Winchester, but Frank will always be my favorite.

I have many Frank moments that I love, but the one that will always stay with me is the last time he says goodbye to Margaret when she leaves on her honeymoon. His "Goodbye, Margaret" is quite hauntingly touching and poignant, and Linville delivered it to perfection in a private moment through a character who was losing, probably, the only real friend he ever had.

        That scene was great!
My favorite was when he found out he was being replaced (by Potter as CO).
He is complemented by Hoolihan for taking it so well - then he has a splendid tantrum in her tent!
