Both albums are mostly fillers, but Xtina got 3 #1s and 1 #3 in the US and those songs charted well internationally specially Genie and Come On Over, BOMT song was a gigantic hit just like Rihanna's Umbrella, but the rest wasn't, Sometimes and Crazy didn't crack the top 5 in the US(both charted well internationally, but not even close to BOMT's international charting), From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart hit top 20 in some countries, but no impact, Born To Make You Happy was a hit in Europe(not released in the US), how could BOMT sell more with a worldwide hit and an Europe only hit while Xtina had 3 worldwide hits under her belt, plus I Turn To You that was very sucessful in the US, was Britney more relatable to the GP? Or it's because she was more publicized? I believe it's because while Xtina's album is better(slightly better filler songs) BOMT's highlights are better than CA's highlights and also because BOMT song was a phenomenon, the song is iconic, the video is iconic, the school girl costume is, the choreography is iconic, you don't see girls dressing like Genietina(girls dress like Dirrtytina though), it was all a question of buzz, Genie video is very good, but didn't left a lasting impact in pop culture.

Because Xtine didn't reallt have anything to offer besides her voice. She can't really dance, and her look wasn't crafted yet.
Britney had this aura about her. The charisma and spark. She could dance her ass off, put on a show, and give cute enough vocals which is all you really need to succeed. I think Britney was just the epitome of 90s teen pop culture, and that's why it sold the 30 million that it has estimated to have sold. I really don't understand why though since the album is not good at all.

She's not on the same league with Britney dancing, but Dirrty proves she can dance when she pulls effort in it.

I agree, she always had more charisma than Xtina, it's like she was a star, everytime she showed up all eyes were on her, words are not enough to describe the beauty she was back then, many crushed on her(me included), that's always something that counts when you're in the business, plus Xtina got some bad image at the time, some people noted the sexual double meaning in Genie and she also got the Diva image on her, she had some bad blood with Mary J Blige and Mariah at that time.

She shares that with Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls. Yeah i get it, it's the singles and the rest is filler, if you take the singles it's Britney Jean level if not inferior to BJ.

a lot of horny men bought Britney's cd so they jerk off to the cd blocket. Christina Aguilera didn't have that appeal.

That's also true, but Xtina rivaled Britney in looks back then, she was stunning, what she lacked was sex appeal, she got that later on the Stripped era and she sexified herself too much people called her trashy/slutty.

Probably because she was a Britney clone just like Mandy and Jessica (albeit a more successful one).
BOMT was also far bigger than any of Xtina's hits and had a far larger impact on pop culture so there's that too.

This. Xtine was manufactured as a rival to Britney, and when that failed she fled for 4 years and went her own route with Stripped to try to make herself her own artist. Ironically that came out after Britney was getting more sexual, so she never really broke out the shadow of Britney until Back To Basics. Then she waited too long for Bionic and became forgotten.

I don't think she was specifically a Britney clone, teen pop girls always start with the virgin saint image then go sexified, it's clear Britney was the trend setter and everyone else was following, but Xtina started her carreer before BOMT, she was doing that Mulan song months before BOMT song was released, she was marketed as her rival and clone at that time and i'm glad she had balls to be herself in her next albums instead of being in her shadow always, however people will always have the feel she followed everything Britney did, she became sexualized right after Britney(though Stripped is very different from any Brit album), she explored EDM music after Britney, the exceptions in Xtina's carreer would be B2B cause Britney never done a retro album and Mi Reflejo(No Spanishney either).

                      1. Christina's debut album is 30 times to miles better than Britney's debut album. It's just far more listenable and even today it's hard listening to Britney's first album compared to Christina's.
                      2. Britney came first. That's it. No other reason. It had nothing to do with looks or outfit. Simply she was first to the race. I'm almost positive if Christina came out first doing the same thing she did she could have sold just as much.
SCREAMING at someone saying all Christina had to offer was her voice. Sorry I think you were confusing Christina with Jessica who truly only had her voice. Also Christina was NEVER a Britney clone or copy cat. She's always been in her own lane.

I mostly agree with both points, but Christina lacked the charisma and charm that Britney had. Although I grew up listening and watching both rise to fame, Christina's self-titled has generally aged better than BOMT.
A bit of the old ultraviolence
