Who was the singer on Tom Browne's FUNKIN' FOR JAMACIA and THIGHS HIGH. She sounds just like Chaka.

I believe her name is Toni Smith. There isn't much info on her. Seems to me as if her career just didn't flourish. She sure does sounds
      alot
like Chaka!!!! I used to think the same thing!
      Peace.

I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but "She" is actually a "He" singing on that song. Trust me, I could not believe it when I found out, but it's the truth! He does have an amazing voice.

            The 'she' is a he!!!!
He has an awesome voice! I wonder what he is doing these days. I've been trying to find some info on him but it appears that he just faded out of t1908he industry.
            Peace.

I know. This info was enlightening. When I listen, and even though I have heard male singers who sing in his range before, I am still pleasantly suprised to know that it was a 'he' all along! His name made me so sure the 'he' was a 'she' as well. Had his first name been Bill, James or Brutus for example, I would have researched like crazy.
                Peace.
