When C.K creates Kaufman 'the writer' as a character in Adaptation, how honest can the constructed representation really be? I saw an interview with C.K. where he said he tries to write honestly, but would it matter if that wasn't true? If the Adaptation character was a complete work of fiction and wasn't remotely autobiographical at all?
In my head, Charlie Kaufman sits in a Heffnesque robe, merrily typing about rotund writers as a lovely leggy lady lights his Cuban, and another serves oysters to the girls playing guitar hero in their scanties
