this is to all of the haters who believe that Adam Kaufman used his girlfriend to further his career. I've known adam since i was 12 and to this day we speak to each other at least once a month. so here is the truth folks. He never asked or wanted to be on WAT. He was asked by the producer's to do a "goof" by playing the one night stand. he was never credited for the appearance(his request) because he felt sleazy about doing it in the first place. It's difficult to say no to ur girlfriend and her producer's without seeming like a jerk, so he said yes. months LATER poppy was pregnant. that summer the producer's had a choiceshoot around the pregnancy or include it in the story lines. they obviously chose the latter. The PRODUCER'S came to Adam with the offer of 3 eps as the baby daddy. Once they decided to incorporate the preggers into the show they had to decide who the father would be and someone (he didn't know who exactly) remembered that the last person sam slept with was the "one night stand". I think all involved (production side) felt that it would be a great idea all around to use adam. seeing as how the writers strike came around at the time poppy and adam's son was born they thought it would great to be able to have poppy adam and baby all together. All this being saidAdam went along not because he was desperate for the work (although it was fun he said) or to help his career but because he didn't want to hurt poppy or the producer's feelings by saying "no thank you". i remember him telling me at the time that this was probably not going to reflect well on him by some. After the 3 eps were through the show kept bringing him back. As much as he said he loved all involved, he really was hoping they would have killed his character off and5b4 not dragged it on. He felt a little " slimy" about the whole thing. Nepotism was a view that he felt other's would have and it bothered him. i'm sure this won't even be read by any of u hater nut jobs out there who've made disparaging remarks about him but once i read what was said i felt a need to stand up for my boy. so now u know the truth. if u didn't like the story line then hate on the producer's but don't point the finger at adam or even poppy for that matter. Neither of them EVER pushed for him to appear on WAT.
