I could have sworn he was born in 1945, but when I checked the date..he is the same age as my parents and he looked so much older than a man of 26. He looked really rugged and older in Flash Gordon. I still can't believe he was 26 years old there. I know people looked much older then, but, man, I could have sworn he was in his 30s then, but not in his mid-20s.

He's a big guy and usually actors in their twenties who are starring are usually much smaller and can pass for teenagers. I think he could have possibly passed for 30 at the time of Flash Gordon because he was so husky and tall and wasn't very boyish like a lot of guys still are at that age but he looked to me what he was, mid to late twenties. He was definitely only 26 at the time, I've been a fan of his since 1980 and 1954 has always been listed as his year of birth. Too, if he had been older his career probably would have begun much earlier than 1979.

^Agreed. There are so many boyish and pretty looking actors out there, especially in their twenties and early thirties (playing teens too), I think we forget what a non-boyish actor looks like. In real life, I seen tons of non-boyish looking men, so I think Hollywood has a preference for casting them a lot because it increases their shelf life as actors. Personally, I think he looked his age in the films.
There are few things as fetching as a bruised ego on a beautiful angel. -

Mel Gibson was around 30 when he did "Lethal Weapon" and he looked and acted much older, I always thought he seemed more like he was in his late 30's in "Lethal Weapon" or at least mid 30's. Some people look older then their age, especially in the 1970's, 80's and early 90's while others look younger, it is strange because in "Lethal Weapon 3" Mel Gibson seemsb68 to look and act a little younger then in "Lethal Weapon".
