I just watched Ghost Story on AMC the other morning.
The last time I watched this was about 1982/83 on VHS.
I enjoyed the story and liked the way they paired up
the younger/older actors, they really resembled their
counterparts (in personality if not in looks ).
so I was interested in finding out what happened to the
younger ones. I was very sorry to read about Tim Choate's
motorcycle accident, but could find nothing on Kurt
Johnson.
On further searching I found the TCM site and they have
Kurt Johnson as making movies to 2001:

Blood, Guts, Bullets & Octane [VHS] (1999) VHS

Either they have the wrong information or here or on other sites.
TCM is not the only one that had this list. There were a few others including the NY Times web site. -

I too was surprised to find that the actor Kurt Johnson in question had passed away. I had the opportunity to meet him and become acquaintances back in the late 70's, when he was doing some live theater in my city. On three consecutive years he came here to appear in theater productions, and we would connect when he was in town. I had lost contact with him, and had wondered whether he was still doing live theater, or what had become of him. I also did some research and was fooled at first by the fact that there were two others acting with the same name. Only when I came to this site did I find out that he had passed.
He was not only a physically beautiful person, but a genuinely kind and nice guy as well. It's gratifying to know that even though his life was shortened for whatever reason, he touched people doing the thing that he loved doing.

The Kurt Johnson who died 12 February 1986, was a student of mine @ Los Angeles City College, majoring in theater. I became his mentor and was happy to do so.
He was Bob Johnson but had to change his name because there were too many Bob Johnsons in SAG. Bob was totally talented as singer, dancer and actor. I visited him several times when he was struggling actor in NYC and his big break came when he was cast in the touring company of A CHORUS LINE as Zach, the director. When the show played Los Angeles @ the Shubert theater, I got to see him and the show more than 20+ times.
Months later when his mother called me to say that Bobby was dying of AIDS and wanted to see me, I was shatteredbut, of course, I went and tried to be cheerful by discussing all the silly things that happened to both of us @ LACC.
He died several days later and a memorial gathering was arrangedand yes, Bob was gorgeous in ALL ways.
A major revival of A CHORUS LINE is playing in L.A. now and it was difficult for me to hold back the tears as I watched it and thought abt my friend, Bobby. -

Bob Johnson aka Kurt was my best friend at LACC. He spent the night at my house, called me Boo and was one of the nicest and most adorable people I ever knew.
My mother died recently and I came across a card Bob sent to my parents.It was newsy and loving and I felt his presence once again.
I'm so glad I got a chance to know him. He made the world a better place. -

How beautiful that you shared your history with him. Thankfully, there are films with him That will make people want to wonder where he was and what his story might have been. Sometimes it’s sad to think that people may be forgotten so remembering and sharing this important. Thank you.
