Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — David Jason

Whenever David wins any awards we inevitably get a little film of his past work and inevitably they completely ignore his excellent voice work in cartoons (and radio too, by all accounts).
It just bugs me that stuff like Only Fools and (over-exposed) Horses and The Darling Buds of May (never liked this) get all the attention when he's done so much more.

Well it's because that only fools and horses is what he is best known for , when ever I hear someone say the name David Jason I automatically think Del Boy and so do most other people cos only fools and horses is just so so big

I realise that, but he does do a lot of other brilliant stuff and although some of that is touched apon, his vocal expertise is always ignored. The over-obsession with OF&H coupled with my dad's religious fervour for the series just puts me off it!

A DJ story I remember hearing about 15-20 years ago.
DJ, like most actors, likes a break from being recognised. And 10-15 years ago he thought that there was no chance of being recognised if he took a holiday in the USA. After arriving at the airport, a woman heard his voice and said in a very loud voice "You're Danger-Mouse"! He was amused as he told the story but understandably not at the time
