Waited with my son at the St. Louis Zoo to see Kevin James and the guy was a total jerk. There was not that many people there maybe 150 and he arrived on the zoo train-maybe that's what pissed him off. He didn't look up, didn't smile and only signed autographs for people in the front row. He acted like the whole thing was total waste of his time. My son and I were in the second row I could have touched him if I wanted to and he couldn't sign a piece of paper?? My son was totally disappointed in someone he thought was going to be at least half way decent. Kevin James is a total waste of time. Perhaps it's the fact that he has to make stupid movies now that King Of Queens is over that makes him unhappy.

I'm sorry to hear that. He may have been kind of tired? He's been doing promo non stop for this movie (appearances, radio interviews, podcasts, etc.). I know we all have expectations, but still have to realize that even celebrities are human and have bad days, get tired, you know. He seems like a pretty genuine decent guy. Anyway, sorry that your Son was disappointed. I know it's kind of a big deal for kids. I met Adam West when I was very young and he was really cool. Made my day.

The help can't speak to him, they can only speak through his assistant. Sends in his people into the store and tells everyone not to make eye contact with him or even look at him. I wish I was shopping in that store and would love to see someone tell me to look down. Bullets would be flying everywhere. Security is to protect, not to bully the general population because Kevin James says you can't look at him. He's an beep you would expect him to be nice playing a funny guy, but he's a dick playing a funny guy.

Bull Sh!t!!! If he was in that bad of a mood he shouldve cancelled. Its not Letterman, its a public appearance at a zoo. Why would a famous person engaging in any type of interaction with fans act like that. What an beep

I was looking at some footage. He seems to be signing a lot of stuff for people and smiling, talking. Was this the same day?

Yep that was the same day. I don't know what to say because we were by the train when he first started signing. He just wasn't happy. I get people are tired and etc but it was weird. I met Kirk Gibson and Lance Parrish when I was younger and they were awesome. Seeing Kevin James was so exciting for my son and it just bummed him out.

It is part of their jobs to go out on the publicity tours. Any professional knows that you play your part, leave your own baggage at the door. So, as we know, James is hardly what one would call professional, given his ability to act, I guess he figures he can do whatever he wants.
You probably shouldn't encourage your child to see his movies, they are tacky and stupid. -

I know this is an old post but I have a few points:
- Sometimes a person doesn't realize what they're in for when they become famous. They don't know what type of attention they'll get until it actually happens to them.
- EVERYONE has bad days. Celebs have days they don't want attention EVERYONE, no matter who they are has days they wish they could hide. They can't choose not to be famous one day, it's not like it's a switch they can turn off.

You expect him to sign 150 pieces of paper because that is your expectation of what he owes people? I question who the selfish ones are. Why is his name on a piece of paper so important?
It's you who set your son up for dissapointment by making him promises you were not sure of. -

Although I do agree that celebrities have the right for an off day where they can be a total ass, I think they should set their bad mood aside when it comes to press tour because it's part of their job. They are getting paid not just for acting, but for PROMOTING the movie which entails being nice to fans and future audience.

He was likely paid a good few million to do the movie, just to act like someone who closely resembles his own personality. Promotion is the hardest work, and pretty much the only real work he did for the movie, and if he's getting paid millions of dollars for it then he could at least act as though he deserves a fraction of the money.
