To the people who think Professor Hawking's 'faking it-"
He has a degenerative motor neuron disease, amyotrophicb68 lateral sclerosis, and he's almost completely paralyzed. He's not faking it. I copied the text below from the wikipedia site so people here can read it and understand the truth:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amyotrophic_lateral_sclerosis
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, sometimes called Lou Gehrig's disease, Maladie de Charcot or motor neurone disease) is a progressive, fatal neurodegenerative disease caused by the degeneration of motor neurons. ALS is marked by gradual degeneration of the nerve cells in the central nervous system that control voluntary muscle movement. The disorder causes muscle weakness and atrophy throughout the body. In ALS, both the upper motor neurons and the lower motor neurons degenerate or die, ceasing to send messages to muscles. Unable to function, the muscles gradually weaken, waste away (atrophy), and have fasciculations because of denervation. Eventually, the brain completely loses its ability to initiate and control voluntary movement. The disease does not necessarily debilitate the patient's mental functioning in the same manner as Alzheimer's disease does or other neurological conditions do. Instead, those suffering advanced stages of the disease may retain the same memories, personality, and intelligence they had before its onset. -

It's pretty obvious that the two "idiot" posters were just joshing. Strike that - it's GLARINGLY obvious, and the fact that some people on here cannot seem to grasp this concept is really quite disturbing.
Bigot: One who is obstinately and zealously attached to an opinion that you do not entertain. -

A crude joke is still a joke, but to the person recieving it, the crude joke is merely crude.
It's disrespectful and rude in my eyes. Whoever wants to see it as merely a joke think what you may, but I think different.
