Stephen Hawking started the donnie darko era. 😉
I think he even made the machine hes using (a controller that can be
manipulated by the use of his lips to input commands on his computer
screen that expresses what he wants to say) the man is a genius.
Come to the world where the flavor is.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but, no he didn't made that machine. It's a voice simulator attached to his wheelchair, and it's manipulated with the aid of a remote control. So, you see, he uses his fingers (not his lips) to navigate through menus on the screen, and he choses what he wants to "say".

He no longer has the use of his fingers and his
        "voice"
is now controlled by a sensor attached to his eyeglasses, which reacts to a muscle he can twitch under his right eye.
It's a tedious process to form a single sentence, one letter at a time, that can take anywhere from 4 to 10 minutes, depending on the length of the sentence being composed.
The above information was supplied to me by actor
        Eddie Redmayne
, who knows the professor personally.
