I know this may sound weird but I found an old copy of Jet Magazine in our local library, dated February 1953. There is an article about a "Negro" actress playing theater in white face. The actress' name was Alzenia Hamiltonoriginally from Chicagobut the picture is obviously a very young Lynn Hamilton. I have searched the web for any indication that Ms. Hamilton changed her name but came up empty. There is absolutely nothing on an Alzenia Hamilton. Plus all information states Ms. Hamilton originates from Yazoo City.
Does anyone know the story behind this? Perhaps Lynn has a sister named Alzenia? If so, what happened to her?

According to my grandmother, Alzinia Lynn Hamilton lived on Parnell in Chicago Heights, IL and was one and the same.

My great aunt and I were watching a Sanford & Son marathon, where Lynn Hamilton played Donna, and she was wondering if Lynn Hamilton was still alive, so I decided to check IMDB for her. But my great aunt also knew Lynn Hamilton as Alzenia when they both lived in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
