I hadn't seen any recent photos of him. I thought he had pretty much retired from acting and was just living his life with his wife, being comfortable and enjoying life.
I don't think he's ever been in a bad movie. Every role he took was so perfect, but I do have my favourites.
As far as him "looking bad," give the man some grace. He managed to make it a lot further in life than many people ever reach.
