Get an applied Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering, EE, ChemE, anything because your grasp of Science is appalling.

Yes it is "only" fiction but
        Sunshine
does appear to be, on the surface (I haven't seen it yet), "hard sf" and yet Garland is ignorant of the basics of stellar evolution, this is not acceptable.
"Everyone is ignorant, only on different subjects". Will Rogers (1879-1935)

A story of irony and ignorance.
Valis - As the signature of your post, you cite a quotation on the subject of ignorance and in the body, you judge another mans so-called 'ignorance' by referencing a film that you-have-not-scene. That sir, is the epitome of ignorance. And THIS is not acceptable. That would be akin to me calling you a simpleton and a hypocrite. Despite what you 'appear' to be, I have never met you & have no grounds and therefore NO RIGHT to pass judgement. - Now do you see what you've done? You've gotten my Irish up and I, as a result of your shenanigans and your decision to poo-poo on someone else's art and achievements, have myself passed judgement on you and therefore have become a hypocrite as well. It's a never ending and viciously vicious circle & once it's begun, it never ends. Because, as the day is long, someone else will now rebuke my statements, calling me a simpleton and a hypocrite. And then someone will tell THAT person that he or she is being a simpleton and a hypocrite. Ahhh! When does the madness end?! Now do you see what you've done sir? You are the architect of chaos!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhh! The egos in my mind are screaming at each other! ..or we can just let people live their life while we focus on our own. And do not fret, as soon as I finish this post, I will take my own advice. 3.2.1.
