Even if it were true, how would that make her a bitch? Perhaps you are confusing this with The Midnight Bell, which is said to be about Hamilton's infatuation with a prostitute.
I would be interested to learn where you got your information, and especially why you would call this lady a bitch, contrary to everything else written about her.

I had no idea of the book until my curiosity was piqued by the heading of this thread."She must be a bitch" for me to look into it.
If Fitzgerald was the inspiration for Netta,than wow-wasn't the type of woman I'd expect.
It is often said of a woman scorned-but in this case it would be Hamiltons fury -

This is pretty sad, OP. Hamilton is the one who seems more like a bitch in that book's case.
Geraldine was supposed to embrace all men who talked to her? So either a bitch or a whore; eh?
