My friend once said that Jennifer's character on Samantha who is like captain jack sparrow's alter ego if a pirate and a 30something female lawyer in 21st century Chicago can be said to have anything in common. It's strange seeing her so subdued in her new character in Blue Bloods but she still manages to steal frames with her hillariously obvious facial expressions. Glad to see they booked her as a full-time but it'd be nice to finally get some back story and add some depth to her character because she definitely has the potential too add a lot more to the show.

I'm a retired San Diego PD detective after 30 years. Of all the characters on Blue Bloods; she,in my opinion, has made her character the most realistic detective on the show. I do agree with danikicks they need to give her more depth because she is really good! She has certainly captured the facial expressions and correct attitudes as well as cop humor.
By the way, this IS the best crime drama I have ever watched. -

I really resent Jennifer's credits listing on the show. Since she has more on-camera time than everyone except Donnie Wahlberg, why is she not up there after Donnie's photo, with her photo? "With Jennifer Esposito" doesn't begin to show her contributions to the show. Not only beautiful, but a fine actress like her should get more attention. Another untapped gem is Lou Cariou. He makes all of his scenes memorable and the chemistry between him and Tom Selleck is spectacular. I would love to see a couple of shows where Jennifer ab68nd Lou solve a crime off the record before Tom finds out. That could definitely be a good comedy show to relieve some of the tension put up by the regular programming.

I think it's just because she wasn't casted originally and didn't appear until a few episodes in. I remember seeing an article about it when they signed her full time mid season. But it's true what you're saying about the grandpa stealing scenes. He adds a nice balance to the rest of the family that takes everything so seriously.
