The episode "Flashes Before Your Eyes" was probably the best episode of the series so far. Cusick is a great actor and the show wouldnt be the same without him.

Must agree. his character is definitely the guy i want to know most about. it used to be Locke but Desmond is just addictive. he's so incredibly in love with Penny, he loves Charles Dickens, he sees the future, he says 'brotha' more than hulk hogan. he's an outstanding actor, truly truly nailed the character of Desmond.
i cant decide if that was my favorite episode of all time or my least favorite. it was fascinating to think about and see but i'm just not sold on whether its consistent with the rest of the story. though time could prove it to be and thinking back makes me believe more in teh episode.
there was an episode in teh 1st season where a girl drowns and someone says 'she wasnt even suppose to be on the plane' that has always stuck with me and i think last nights episode let me know why. -

Well, I'm really bummed they killed off Mr. Echo (Eko?) 'cuz his character was mysterious and so nuancedbrilliant acting. Jack and Sawyer are still my all time favs, BUT beautiful Desmond is now equally fascinating as they are especially in the "sexy department."
Could I please be stranded on an island with those three ??

Yeah, Terry o Quinn and Henry I. Cusick are by far the best actors on the series
YES. I was upset when I thought, momentarily, that Terry would leave the show. Now I'm worried about Henry. Desmond and Locke MUST stay. And Sawyer so I can look at him.

I actually got on this board to post this EXACT same thing. I was ready to give up on "Lost," until I saw this episode. As good as any of the classics from the first Season.
L2000oved, loved, loved it! Especially the part where Desmond begins crying and asking for another chance. Great acting, great script. Maybe I related cause I personally have some regrets in my life.
Great acting brother. -

I dozed off during this episode last week (I have insomnia) and am catching it in its entirty now.
Wow.
I always found Des a little nuts and very annoying. Now, we can see better WHY he's at least a little nuts, and he seems much less annoying
Great, great episode, wonderful performances, AND the phenomenal Fionnula Flanagan all in the same episode. And a great trick ending. Wow.

I think it was one of the first couple episodes. maybe the episode where they move from the beach to the caves. or no it was the episode where Ethan shows up. because i think it inspired Hurley to get the manifest and have a census.

Desmond is a great character, starting from the first moment we see him in ep 1 season 2.
However, with the direction of Desmond's recent storylines, and various speculations as to where it will take hi7ecm on other boards, i'm starting to get a bad feeling with regards the timespan of his character. I'm just desperately hoping that the theories on other posts are just that, theories. There's so much about his character that needs revealing yet.
