There is still a few seasons incoming, 3 at least, so you never know. He won't be Stannis of course but he might be some other character.

Stephen Dillane was brilliant as Stannis. Plus, Stannis isn't meant to be as charismatic and likeable as Bryan Cranston. He is meant to be a little 'boring'. Also, apart from Peter Dinklage none of the GOT cast are North American, presumably to evoke an 'old world' feel.

Bryan would have done a better job portraying his emotionally hard choices like sacrificing his own daughter for the cause.
it would have made the character more 3 dimensional
