Hi Folks (and Patrick if you're reading this!),
I'm a songwriter, looking for Patrick Cranshaw. I've been touring the states for about 12 years now as a solo acoustic act. Patrick showed up at an instore concert I did at a Borders Books about 10 years ago, in the Dallas/FT.W area. He actually played some harmonica with me that day. I didn't know who he was, I just invited him up because he had a harmonica in his pocket and I was joking about my own bad harp playing.
After the show and he told me who he was, and I was both floored and delighted of course. He was the nicest guy! It's been about ten years since that happened, and I always wondered about him, how he's doing, where he is and if I'd ever get to say hello to him again. Every so oft1908en, I see him pop up in a role in a movie or TV show, and think "God, he's still going! way to go Patrick!".
Meantime, Patrick, if you read this stuff, I would love to send you a few CDs of mine for old times sake, for the jam we had ten years ago, and also share some newer songs I've written that have to do with Hollywood, I think you'd like them. I also write for a magazine "The Harbinger" in Arnold, CA, and the articles are based on my touring. Back in 1996, I wrote about that time we crossed paths in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. You'd enjoy reading that as well It's at my website, archived in the "Napkin Literature" section of my site. Here's the poop on that: "Ode to Mr. Mayes & The Bonnie and Clyde Bank Teller"
(Issue 19 - Spring '96)
Patrick, you are a genuinely nice man and I hope you're doing splendid. It would be great to catch up with you again. If it rings a bell, you played harmonica live on "Jersey Jail" in Ft. Worth area at a Borders Books.
Sincerely,
Michael McNevin
