Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Joey Cramer

    calicat5 — 19 years ago(August 20, 2006 12:45 AM)

Living in British Columbia, Canada. He's one of the most sweetest, nicest, down to earth guys you could ever meet but he's put the past behind him and likes his privacy and says he would never come back to acting which to me that's unfortunate because he truly was a rising star and if he came back he could go far. He had a hard life after Flight of the Navigator and is now trying to make it better. Before i met Joe i often asked myself "I wonder what happened to that kid from Flight of the Navigator?" so that's why i thought i'd share this with everyone.
As for the movie, since i'm a total kid at heart i loved it when it came out and i still do and think it's an 80's classic.
Everyone's been asking where Joey Cramer is and i answered this question a looooooong time ago but i just realized that i posted it on the Flight of the Navigator message board only and not this one too. I'm also now adding that he's not married and to my knowledge he doesn't have kids. He still keeps in contact with the Director of Flight of the Navigator but doesn't want to return to acting but has thought about a sequel but nothing for sure.

How do you know that this person is lying?

People always assume people are lying if they happen to know somthing about an actor. Anyway thanks for that, it's a shame he isnt acting anymore.

Yeah, why shoud you assume they are lying? I mean he's an actor, not even a big time actor at that. They are people too you know, so us "regular" folks may know them, hell may even be related to them. Geez. I can see if they said they know Jesus Christ personally. That they have shot hoops w/ JC or something likethat

If you watch it, they'll make a sequel to ruin it.

I just watched I-Man (a Disney film from the '80s with Scott Bakula) and was very surprised to see that the kid in it was Joey Cramer! I recognise that voice of David and Bobby anywhere! I wonder what his voice sounds like today.

I loved that film at the time, indeed it had something distinct and magical about it. It still does, 20 years later and light-years of computer-effects advances.
The kid is a grown up man by now and I also feel sorry he didnt keep making films, he was a good actor.
I whish him well, and hope what you say is factual.

How is writing about him online pestering him? It's a messageboard, not a telephone. By that rationale, trumpet_999, you shouldn't even be looking him up.

Yeah and its not harassment / pestering or anything.
I would call it dedication from his fans to that great young actor!
Of course we want him to be happy in his now private life, but that doesnt mean we wont "love" him for what he did in his past!

Gosh. I always hear of these child actors ending up in burger bars and restaurants and workplaces of the like. I can't help feel sorry for them. Of course, I can understand when fame becomes a cage, but at the same time I just love Joey's work in this film. He truely gives David a wonderful human111c feeling, and I believe its his presence in the film which adds greatly to the warmth and wonder of the film that captivated so many of us as children.

That's a very long winded answer that doesn't actually answer the original question.

I am very sorry to hear that he had problems after making the movie as it was, and continues to be, one of my all-time favorites, and mostly because of him. I have recently passed it on to my son, who is five, and he loves it also.
