Late Thread but I seem to notice that the actors that have the biggest chance of having a decent career are the ones that 1. Try it after doing other careers or 2. Stumble into it by accidental they knew somebody that asked them to audition(Take Tom Welling for example after high school he became a construction worker at a family members construction company and that was his life's career, but by some chance he met a talent agent at a friend's party and he got his first acting credit at 23)
As much as I fans of them, I wish people would stop bringing up Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise. Yes they got their start young, but for every Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise there are 1000s of actors struggling. Its not like when you turn 20 you are going to be offered roles(too mnay people think that. You can Argue Depp didn't truly became a Star until Edward Scisscorhands in 1990 when he was 26. I don't see whats so special about getting your start that young its not like you are going to make millions of dollars or be guareenteed a career. Many of these very young actors unless they are able to secure big roles after their debut aren't making a living and have to work a regular Job.
This is an 8 year old Thread lots of Happen.
Glen Powell who has been acting since he was a kid said he almost quit several times since he wasn't making a living as an actor and it wasn't until Top Gun 2 hit theaters were he finally made some money, he was 34.
Sydney Sweeney too also said she didn't really make money until her roles after Euphoria Season 2.
Zac Efron while hes been acting since his teens, lets be real nobody has been able to take him seriously as an actor until recent years since he stayed typecast until he did the Iron Claw. I know he played Ted Bundy, but still he was kinda doing these comedies, even Ricky Stincky was the type roles hes always done.
Another thing too is only a handful of very young actors are appealing to audiences especially in the 21st century. Most moviegoers seem to care more for actors that are 35 or older unless its a project that requires actors in their teens or 20s.
I think people too obbsessed with age. The fact that he started his journey at 24 is respectable imo.
