Candis does a great job playing Carmelita on "Dirty Sexy Money", and I'm impressed that a transgendered person is presented as a three-dimensional human being. There's actually some real romantic chemistry between her and Billy Baldwin.
The Emmys do have a category for "Guest Actors", so it wouldn't be absurd to pitch for an Emmy nom.
There's one question: should it be "Guest Actor" or "Guest Actress"? I'm not being facetious: Candis identifies as female, but what are the rules for eligibility here? I'd be delighted if she entered as an actress, but is there a rule against it?
Truth is, as long as she's nominated I'd be happy.

I don't know about deserving an Emmy, but I agree with the OP about the nature of111c her character. It's nice to see a transgender role that isn't a caricature.

That scene with donald sutherland in the limo showed a limit on her craft big time. NO WAY on an Emmy nod.

I'm currently watching DSM for the 5b4first time, and while an Emmy nod might have been out of reach, she still did a great job. And I agree that it's great to see her character is not a caricature. Apart from Nick and Lisa, she is actually one of the "normal" people on the show with more intelligence and warmth than any of the Darlings.
I used to have an X-Files quote in my signature.
