I saw Raquel in Macbeth yesterday and she was amazing; as was the play. I recomend anyone to go and see it as it is done in a modern and extremely interesting way. The enclosed atmosphere and the audience-cast interaction and the up close and personal approach was electrifying. It is on at the Arcola Theatre, Hackney. It is absolutly amazing, i haven't stopped raving about it all day!

I saw her as well and I thought she was terrible - very wooden definitely a mistake to cast her. I was also amazed to see her date of birth on a wesite recently. I thought she was at least in her mid 40's - perhaps she has had a tough life and it has aged her. or perhaps it was the makeup. She strikes me as a typical stuck-up, middle class woman with theatrical pretentions.

Did you sign up for the sole intention of heckling Raquel?
I have to agree on the age issue though. I mean, I don't think she looks bad by any means, but 1982? She must have been 18 or so when they started filming Teachers. A little dumbfounding! Someone else told me she was born in 1967, though, so I'm not sure what's true. I could believe either. -

according to the bfi database it is 1967 and because i tirelessly work to get info on as many british actors onto the imdb i will post it in a tick. thought she was rather good as the long-suffering assistant to stephen mangan's ghastly comic in FESTIVAL and as a crazed ex- in the (to my mind over-rated) WORST WEEK OF MY LIFE. given her waspish comments elaine stott sounds like a natchdon for lady macbeth. tee hee
