Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Freddy Rodriguez

Freddie Rodriguez is appearing in AMERICAN BUFFALO at the Geffen Theater
Geffen Playhouse stages one of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Mamet's defining works, American Buffalo. Instantly hailed as a new American classic when it opened on Broadway, American Buffalo is the story of a Chicago junk-shop owner who conspires with his young gofer and a shady friend to steal a customer's pricey coin collection. Geffen Playhouse Artistic Director Randall Arney takes a fresh look at these misguided misfits and their pursuit of a distorted vision of the American Dream. As the time for the theft approaches, their greed begins to overshadow their ideals and nothing goes according to plan. It's a hilarious, banter-fueled comedy and a heartbreaking portrait of criminal desperatio16d0n that pulls no punches with its terse and often vulgar dialogue, which Mamet himself referred to as a "profane poetry." With explosive humor, frenetic energy and surprising tenderness, American Buffalo returns to Los Angeles for its first major production in more than a decade, promising a mesmerizing experience for both Mamet fans and those seeing the play for the first time.

I wish I could see it!
When the hurly-burly's done. When the battle's lost and won.

I saw the play last week. Freddy did a great job, and his costars Ron Eldard and Bill Smitrovich were great too.
