Well, I sure feel like I've met Pat. While researching and writing his biography (
Pat Buttram, the Rocking-Chair Humorist
), I regularly communicated with his daughters and visited his sister, brother, nieces and nephews. On one of those visits, his niece had me stay at her house. About my 3rd day there, she said, "You know that bed you've been sleeping in? That used to be Uncle Pat's bed." Wow! Looking with his very sweet relatives at the family photos was an awesome experience, too. They had such great memories of their little brother/uncle Pat.
One of the posters said that Pat should've been a comedy writer. Guess what. He was! Many of his original jokes are scattered throughout the book. He wrote jokes for many of his comedian-friends and even President Reagan. -

I never met him. But when I was a kid in the mid to late 90s. My best friends lived in the Jamestown apartments in California. An the kid next door who we used to hang out with. Told me how he was his grandfather. I don't think I remember the kids first name. But it may have been john buttram
