Connie's problem, IMO, is that she has a
tired-looking
face and I don't think she can do much about it. Her figure and hair are fine, but, unfortunately, she is not aging as well as others because of her face.
Interestingly, a profile in the
Sunday Times
yesterday stated that Connie is very sensitive to any indication in
Nashville
that she is an
aging
country star. She has told the producers that she has no interest in that kind of role. No doubt she is somewhat sensitive about this because, unfortunately, she could play that kind of role rather well. -

Isn't that the premise of the show that she is an "aging" country star and HP is taking her place? I love Connie and pretty much all of her work, but I guess it's a case of life meets art. She is a rare late bloomer in Hollywood. Despite double standards, even men don't often "make it" in their late 30s-early 40s like she did.
