Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Bill Bixby

Wow! It's hard to believe that Bill Bixby would've been 78 years old this coming January. I've always been a big fan of The Incredible Hulk series as well as a fan of Bill and his work. It's such a shame that his life ended as early as it did in that he faced so much hardship over the years. However, I was always so impressed that he kept such a positive attitude through all of it. The celebrities of today (especially the younger generation) could learn a thing or two from Bill Bixby.

Well said. (although now I'm depressed thinking about how long he's been gone & how old he would've been were he still with us)

It would be strange to see him as an old man. I have a feeling he would've retired from acting and focused solely on directing. That's sort of what he was doing before he passed away. However, being in his late 70s he may just have retired altogether.

Bill Bixby retiring from directing?? No, I don't think so. The word RETIREMENT wouldn't be in his DNA. He, being the perfectionist and a workaholic that he was sustained and helped him cope with his personal tragedies. The only thing that would retire him is the GOOD LORD calling him up, patting him on the back and saying, "Well Done, Bix".
